Hideki Matsuyama achieved victory last night in the Genesis Invitational, the second elevated tournament of the season on the PGA Tour, reaching nine wins on the American tour in his brilliant record. The 31-year-old Japanese golfer signed a sensational final round of 62 strokes, with nine under par, to prevail with a comfortable three-stroke lead over Americans Luke List and Will Zalatoris.

The winner of a Masters of Augusta, with six birdies in his last nine holes, broke the record for victories of Asian players on the PGA Tour and demonstrated his total mastery of his driver ZX5 Mk II LS and his irons Z-Forged II, with which he offered a real recital in his approach game. A total synchrony with his equipment from the Japanese brand Srixon and Cleveland Golf that the company itself has applauded by congratulating Hideki and sharing the details of the equipment in his bag.

With this victory, Matsuyama is now third in the FedEx Cup ranking and climbs from 55th to 20th in the world golf ranking. A victory at the spectacular Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California, with which the Japanese golfer ends more than two years of drought. His previous victory on the PGA Tour was the Sony Open in Hawaii, in January 2022.
