Scottie Scheffler’s return is now official. He will make his debut in 2025 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am next week. This was reported by the San Francisco Chronicle, shortly before the PGA Tour released the list of participants. The World Number One will compete again almost two months later.

The last thing Scheffler did was win the Hero World Challenge hosted by Tiger Woods in the Bahamas last December. His next tournament was supposed to be the Sentry Tournament, but an unfortunate domestic accident altered his plans. He was cooking for Christmas dinner when he suffered a very deep cut on his right hand. He ended up in the hospital and required surgery. He has been inactive since then.

There were doubts about when Scheffler would be ready to start the season, although last Monday, during the launch event of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, he was quite optimistic about a possible return at Pebble Beach. He did not confirm it, but he did assure that the recovery was going according to schedule.

Scheffler’s return is great news for golf and the PGA Tour. It comes a week before the start of LIV Golf and the same week that Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy will face off in the TGL. Now it remains to be seen how the golfer born in New Jersey and residing in Texas is doing. We will see if he is able to be at one hundred percent right from his debut in 2025 at a legendary venue like Pebble Beach.
