The Genesis Invitational in Pacific Palisades, California, is one of the PGA Tour tournaments considered as ‘elevated’ in this 2024 season. In other words, it has a prize pool higher than previous editions and other regular events, reaching 20 million dollars. A striking figure with which the American circuit tries to stem the drain of players who have set course for LIV Golf.

Interestingly, the prize that the tournament winner will receive, four million dollars, 20% of the total purse, is the same as the winners of the Saudi tour events receive. For the runner-up, the check will be 2.2 million dollars, 11% of the total, as long as he holds the position alone. While the third, under the same conditions, will take a reward of 1.4 million, 7% of the purse.

In the prize table shared by the PGA Tour for this tournament, checks are contemplated for the first 50 classified and tied, although there is a financial compensation for the 70 best. The Genesis Invitational is the third ‘elevated’ event of the season after the Sentry and the Pebble Beach tournament. The next one will be the Arnold Palmer Invitational, also with 20 million in purse, before the THE PLAYERS, which will reach 25 million in prizes.
