The TOUR Championship 2025 concludes the PGA Tour season at East Lake (Atlanta) with a key change: the “starting strokes” system is removed and it returns to a pure 72-hole stroke play; the tournament winner is also the FedExCup champion. Additionally, the financial distribution has changed: 40 million dollars are distributed this week as the official tournament purse, with 10 million for the champion.

The sporting format has changed: everyone starts from par, without an initial handicap based on ranking. The tournament winner also takes the FedExCup.

Money structure: the FedExCup maintains a total bonus of 100 million, but it is no longer mostly paid at East Lake. It is now distributed at three points: after the Wyndham, after the BMW Championship, and after the TOUR Championship.

After the Wyndham Championship distributes 40 million to the top ten of the regular season. The leader takes 10.

After the BMW Championship a specific bonus is assigned to the 30 qualifiers for East Lake, with $5M for the number 1 in points at the conclusion of the BMW and decreasing amounts down to the 30th. These first two have already been taken by Scottie Scheffler.

TOUR Championship: 40 million official purse. This week, official money is distributed (counts towards PGA Tour earnings). The winner earns 10M and all 30 players receive a prize.

In recent years, the FedExCup champion received 25M at East Lake as a bonus (not official). In 2025, that “big cheque” has been distributed among the playoffs and a record official purse of 40M in the final.

This is how the TOUR Championship 2025 is paid (positions 1–30)
