Sun Day Red, the clothing brand of Tiger Woods, faces another legal battle.

Puma has filed a lawsuit claiming that the Sun Day Red logo is too similar to the one the German brand has been using for the past 56 years. The company has initiated the litigation to prevent the golf brand owned by TaylorMade from using said logo.

“Due to the confusing similarity of the brands and the identical, legally identical, or closely related nature of the parties’ products and services, it is likely that confusion will occur between the disputed brands and the Leaping Cat logo,” the lawsuit states.

After Woods and Nike ended their relationship after 27 years, the Cypress golfer launched Sun Day Red in collaboration with TaylorMade. The logo is a leaping tiger formed by 15 lines, representing Woods’ 15 major championship victories.

TaylorMade has expressed that they feel “very confident in our brands and logos” and trust that the case will not go further.

Lawsuits are piling up. Puma is not the only company that has questioned the Sun Day Red logo. Tigeraire, a personal air products company, filed a notice of opposition three months ago, which is currently in litigation in a federal court.
