The Club de Campo Villa de Madrid hosted the official presentation of Spin&Swing by Cantabria Labs this Tuesday, a new charity golf circuit for companies driven by Rafa Nadal with the aim of raising funds for the Education and Sport project of the Fundación Rafa Nadal.
The event was attended by Nadal himself, founding patron of the Foundation, María Francisca Perelló, director of the Fundación Rafa Nadal, and Juan Matji, president of Cantabria Labs. The mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez Almeida, also attended the event.
The winner of twenty-two Grand Slams explained that it is an initiative directly driven by him and that it is a project that arises from his personal passion for golf and his desire to continue supporting the social work of the Foundation: “This initiative is born from the love I have for golf and the idea of generating recurring resources for the projects of the Fundación Rafa Nadal, helping children and adolescents in vulnerable situations. Golf is a unique sport, where people of different levels can share experiences and coexist.”
The circuit will consist of four events throughout the year, with the participation of around 15 corporate teams, each formed by six players at each venue. Rafa has made it clear that he wants to play all the events, although due to injury he will not be able to participate in the initial event, but he will be present. In the events, the four best scorecards of each team will count each day.
The stages will be held at some of the most prominent courses in Spain: La Manga Club (26 and 27 February), Club de Campo Villa de Madrid (21 and 22 April), Real Golf de Pedreña (11 and 12 June), Camiral Golf & Wellness (22 to 24 October), which will serve as the grand final of the circuit.
Beyond the sporting aspect, Spin&Swing will offer a premium experience, with exclusive events and gastronomic proposals signed by renowned chefs such as Pablo González Conejero, from the restaurant Cabaña Buenavista (two Michelin Stars), and Jesús Sánchez, from Cenador de Amós, responsible for the gastronomic offer in Madrid and Santander, as well as special surprises for the final in Girona.
For her part, María Francisca Perelló, director of the Foundation, highlighted the social impact of the project: “Spin&Swing allows us to reach new companies and audiences through a different format, aligned with the values of the Foundation. 100% of the funds raised will be allocated to the Education and Sport project.”
Currently, this programme serves more than 500 vulnerable minors each year and has supported more than 3,700 children and adolescents and their families over the past decade, establishing itself as a long-term social impact initiative.
