The third round of the PGA Championship will start at 8:15 a.m. local time at Quail Hollow, with the pairing of Max Greyserman and Sam Burns. The featured match will tee off at 2:45 p.m., with Jhonattan Vegas and Matthieu Pavon. In between these two, there will be 35 more tee times aiming for a great comeback, the best possible moving day. Among them, of course, are the three Spaniards who made the cut: Jon Rahm, David Puig, and Sergio García.
The first to make an appearance on the 1st tee will be Puig. He tees off in the fourth group alongside American Bud Cauley. Keep an eye, by the way, on the second group, with Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele. We’ll see what they are capable of. They need a high-flying Saturday to give themselves a chance on Sunday. Puig tees off at 8:45 a.m.
Barely twenty minutes later, it will be Sergio García‘s turn. The Borriol native will tee off at 9:05 a.m. alongside Brian Harman. A Masters champion alongside an Open Championship winner. Not bad at all.
Finally, Jon Rahm will tee off at 11:45 a.m. with Keegan Bradley. Quite something. The United States captain of the Ryder Cup. A good opportunity for the Basque to stake his claim ahead of the next showdown in September at Bethpage, New York. An added incentive, if playing a Major and needing a good round to get into contention wasn’t enough.
Among the most attractive matches of the day are:
– Niemann and Hatton
– Hovland and Fleetwood
– Homa and Scheffler
– Fitzpatrick and Si Woo Kim (second to last match)
– Vegas and Pavon (last match)
