The R&A, organiser of the The Open Championship, the fourth and final major of the season, has released the groups and tee times for the first two rounds of the tournament taking place at Royal Troon this Tuesday. A schedule in which one of the Spaniards participating in the tournament, Jon Rahm, has been included in one of the highlighted groups along with two players he knows perfectly well…
The one from Barrika will share the game on Thursday and Friday with the Scot Robert MacIntyre, who comes from winning the Genesis Scottish Open last Sunday, and with the Englishman Tommy Fleetwood. His first match will start at 9.36 local time, one hour more in Spanish peninsular time. The second highlighted group of the morning shift will be formed by Ludvig Aberg, Bryson DeChambeau and Tom Kim, from 9.47 hours (10.47 in Spain).
In the afternoon, the main focus of the television cameras will be on the match played by Tiger Woods, Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay from 14.37 hours (15.37 in our country) and by which they will share three other great stars of golf, including the world’s Number One: Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth and Cameron Young, who will play from 15.10 local time.
Rahm will be the first of the Spaniards to go out to play at Royal Troon in this edition of the The Open. David Puig, who will share the first two rounds with John Catlin and Gun Tack Koh, will start on Thursday at 10.53 hours (11.53 in peninsular time). While Nacho Elvira will play from 11.15 local time with Minkyu Kim and Darren Fichardt.
Already in the afternoon shift, Ángel Hidalgo will share the round with Rikuya Hoshino and Richard Mansell from 12.09 (13.09 in Spain); Jorge Campillo will play from 12.20 hours (13.20 in our country) together with Corey Conners and Ryan Fox; the amateur Luis Masaveu will play with Ryan Van Velzen and Charlie Lindh from 15.54 hours (16.54 in Spanish peninsular time); and the also amateur Jaime Montojo will close the day for the Armada playing with Kazuma Kobori and Liam Nolan at 16.05 (17.05).
