In less than a week, the new year will begin, a 2026 full of renewed hopes featuring numerous and exciting events in the world of golf that you cannot miss. Prestigious tournaments around the world where the best players from the most relevant professional circuits will fight for victories. A comprehensive schedule that will kick off in January with the first major events of the DP World Tour.
With the season already underway in the European circuit for a few weeks, the first major meeting of its stars will be the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, from 22 to 25 January, a Rolex Series tournament held at the Emirates Golf Club. The nine million dollars in prizes it distributes will surely be an important attraction for a top-level field.
In the PGA Tour, the season starts in January. This year, the famous tournament of champions is not held, but several events are scheduled. However, it will likely not be until February, in the first two Signature Events of 2026, when we can enjoy the best players of the circuit together. The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am from 12 to 15 February in Pebble Beach and the Genesis Invitational, from 19 to 22 at the Riviera Country Club, will capture all the attention.
The season will start to heat up in March with the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill on the PGA Tour, from 5 to 8, a month before Augusta National hosts the first major of the season, the Masters, from 9 to 12 April. A highlighted date on the calendar in pursuit of the Green Jacket, followed by two more designated events on the US tour, the RBC Heritage, from 16 to 19 in Hilton Head, and the Cadillac Championship, from 30 April to 3 May at Trump National Doral.
On a national level, the Real Club de Golf El Prat will host the Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship of the DP World Tour from 7 to 10 May, sharing dates with the Truist Championship of the PGA Tour at Quail Hollow, another elevated tournament. Both will serve as a prelude to the second Major of 2026, the PGA Championship, which this time will take place at Aronimink Golf Club from 14 to 17 May.
The LIV Golf calendar, starting in February, has an event in our country in June, from 4 to 7, with the LIV Golf Valderrama at Real Club Valderrama featuring Jon Rahm, Sergio García, David Puig, and company. That same weekend, the Memorial Tournament is played at Muirfield, another major regular event of the PGA Tour in United States as a prelude to the third major…
Shinnecock Hills will host the US Open from 18 to 21 June, a new gathering of the best players from the three circuits in search of glory in a month that will close from 25 to 28 with the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands, the last of the Signature Events of the US tour, which will be approaching its playoffs. But before that, it’s the turn of the Genesis Scottish Open, co-sanctioned by the DP and the PGA from 9 to 12 July at The Renaissance Club in Scotland.
The Open Championship, the last Major of 2026, will be played from 16 to 19 July at Royal Birkdale. And from there, to the final series of the US circuit with the FedEx St. Jude Championship, from 13 to 16 August at TPC Southwind, the BMW Championship, from 20 to 23 August at Bellerive Country Club, the grand finale, the TOUR Championship, from 27 to 30 August at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. A month in which the season will also close in LIV Golf with the LIV Golf Indianapolis, individual final, from 20 to 23, and the LIV Golf Michigan, team final, from 27 to 30.
With the season concluded in the Saudi tour and the PGA Tour, only awaiting the FedEx Fall where a handful of players will fight to retain their US circuit card, the high season of the DP World Tour will arrive, starting with the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, from 17 to 20 September, as part of the Rolex Series. September will close with the Presidents Cup, from 24 to 27, at a venue like Medinah, fondly remembered by Europe in the Ryder.
The DP World Tour will return to our country in October for the Open de España presented by Madrid from 8 to 11, at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid. And it will close its season a month later, with its two final series: the Abu Dhabi Championship at Yas Link, from 5 to 8 November, and the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates, from 12 to 15 November, both part of the Rolex Series. An exciting year of golf in which to continue enjoying the best of the OWGR and discovering new stars.
