– Carolina López Chacarra will become the eighth different Spanish woman to play an official competition round at Augusta National this Friday. The first were Ainhoa Olarra and Marta Pérez in 2019, followed by Ana Peláez in 2021, Cata Fernández in 2022 and 2023, Carla Bernat in 2024 and 2025, Andrea Revuelta in 2024 and 2025, Paula Martín in 2024 and 2025 and now Carolina. It’s the club of 8. Very exclusive. Eight in six editions.
– Never before has a Spanish woman gone out to play at Augusta National with such a clear chance of victory as Carla Bernat and Andrea Revuelta have this Saturday. The player from Castellón and the one from Madrid will tee off in the penultimate match of the day, just one stroke behind the lead shared by Lottie Woad and Kiara Romero. To date, the best scenario a Spanish woman had in Augusta to win was the five-stroke deficit of Revuelta and Cata last year against Lottie Woad. A different story.
– No Spanish woman has managed to score below 71 strokes at Augusta National. The best rounds at the Georgia coliseum are precisely of that score for Ainhoa Olarra (2019), Ana Peláez (2021), and Cata Fernández (2023). The goal tomorrow should be to score below that. Initially, the conditions are not expected to be bad. A similar wind to yesterday is expected, between 10 and 15 miles from the southwest, with heat and clouds. It might rain a bit, but it’s not certain. Augusta is never easy, but these aren’t terrible conditions. It seems that any chance of victory would require Andrea or Carla to score below 70 strokes for the first time in Spanish women’s golf.

In this list, there are two Major winners, two World Amateur Number Ones, two Solheim Cup players, an ANWA champion, and all of them are or have been college stars. The goal is to have a Spanish woman join this year. Paula Martín and Carolina López Chacarra will also have their chance after making the cut yesterday.
– Carla Bernat is accompanied on the bag by Rinko Mitsunaga, Assistant Coach at Kansas State, Andrea Revuelta by her lifelong coach Alejandro Ramos, Paula Martín by her coach Alex Larrazábal, and Carolina López Chacarra by Ryan Potter, assistant coach at Wake Forest.
– Revuelta and Carolina are the golfers, along with Asterisk Talley, who have hit the most greens in regulation over the first two rounds (30 out of 36). Additionally, Andrea is the second with the most birdies (12), only surpassed by Kiara Romero (14).
