Mike Weir, captain of the international team, and Jim Furyk, his counterpart from the American team, have chosen tonight, after the first day of competition in the Presidents Cup, the pairs that will play the five foursomes matches tomorrow in which the tournament could be practically seen for sentence. If a result like this Thursday’s is repeated, where USA has won by 5-0, the stars and stripes could confirm their victory on Saturday itself, without needing to reach Sunday’s individual matches.

For this, they will have to maintain their level of success in the alternate shots mode starting with the duel that will open the table in the alternate shots session, with Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele representing the American team and Hideki Masuyama along with Sungjae Im the international team. A match that will be followed by the one played by Sahith Theegala and Collin Morikawa against Adam Scott and Taylor Pentrith.

Max Homa and Brian Harman will make their debut in this Presidents in the third match on Friday against Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Jason Day. Wyndham Clark and Tony Finau will face two local players, the Canadians Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes, who is making his debut. While the fifth and last duel of the day will be the one starring the Number One in the world, Scottie Scheffler, along with Russell Henley, with whom he repeats, against Si Woo Kim and Byeong Hun An. Five points in total are at stake that can leave the tournament almost finished.
