The first finalists in the history of the TGL are now known. Atlanta Bay, led by Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, and Billy Horschel, clearly won against The Bay in the early hours of Tuesday and will play for the inaugural season title against New York.

In the stands was the recent winner of The Players, Rory McIlroy, just 24 hours after lifting his second title at TPC Sawgrass. The Northern Irishman, who was unable to qualify with his team for the TGL semi-finals, did not want to miss this Tuesday’s event at the SoFi Center.

The world number two, who attended as a spectator with his wife and daughter, admitted to having a lot of FOMO, a trendy word which is the abbreviation of “Fear of Missing Out”; the fear of missing out on something.

“I have a lot of FOMO, I would love to be playing right now and not in the stands. Wyndham feels the same way.” Clark was unable to play due to a neck injury that forced him to withdraw from The Players and watched from the stands as his team with Shane Lowry, Min Woo Lee, and Ludvid Aberg was unable to compete at any point against the Americans of Atlanta Bay.

The third and fourth place finishers of the regular league will be the ones to play the grand final since a day earlier New York had overcome Los Angeles, the main title contender after winning the regular league, by a tight 6-4.

The finals of the first edition will be held on the upcoming 24th and 25th of March, best of three matches.
