The champion will take 1,950,000 dollars, a figure that confirms the unstoppable rise of this tournament over the last decade and that places it, once again, at the economic summit of women’s golf. The KPMG thus regains the number one spot after the US Women’s Open had set the bar just a few weeks ago with 12.5 million dollars at Riviera.
The evolution has been striking. The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship paid out 4.5 million dollars in 2021, made a huge leap to 9 million in 2022, rose to 10 million in 2023, reached 10.4 million in 2024, got to 12 million in 2025 and now breaks all records with 13 million in 2026.
That is to say, in barely five years the purse has almost tripled. It has gone from 4.5 to 13 million. An increase of 8.5 million dollars since 2021.
The comparison with the other two majors already played this season is also significant. The Chevron Championship paid out 9 million dollars, with 1,350,000 for Nelly Korda as champion. The US Women’s Open rose to 12.5 million, with 2,500,000 for Korda herself. Now, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship sits above both in total purse: 4 million more than the Chevron and 500,000 dollars more than the US Women’s Open.
