Following the steps of the USGA, the Royal & Ancient has introduced a new category that will allow golfers currently competing in LIV Golf to qualify for a spot to play in the prestigious Open Championship. The Saudi tour revealed this on Monday with a message on social media detailing the conditions to secure the spot.
Thus, the highest-ranked player in the individual standings after the LIV Golf in Dallas who is not already exempt and is among the top five positions on the table will earn a place to compete in the 153rd edition of the famous British Open. Additionally, LIV Golf players will have a second route to enter the British Open through the International Series in Macau, which also offers a ticket to Royal Portrush.
