The USGA announced this Saturday morning the prize money to be distributed this Sunday at the US Open. The growth compared to 2023 is quite significant, to the point that the total sum to be given to the participating professionals amounts to 21.5 million dollars, one and a half million more than what was distributed last year at Los Angeles Country Club.

The winner of Pinehurst this Sunday will receive a check for 4.3 million dollars, the highest amount ever given to a winner of a Major, in fact, it is above the four million that the champion of a LIV tournament or a designated PGA Tour tournament takes.

The US Open financially surpasses the Masters and the PGA Championship, whose prize money in 2024 has risen to 20 million and 18.5, respectively.

In addition to the 4.3 million for the winner, 2,322,000 are allocated for the second place and more than one million dollars for the one who finishes in fourth position. The tenth place is endowed with just over half a million dollars and the 25th will take more than 175,000, to give you an idea of where the figures are moving.

In addition, as you already know, the professionals who have made the cut receive the amount of 10,000 dollars simply for participating and as help for the expenses generated by playing the tournament.
