– Once the Open Championship has concluded, the last of the four Majors of the year, we proceed to establish a simple world ranking through the world ranking points accumulated by each player in these four major events, which, after all, since the arrival of LIV Golf, are the only ones that guarantee the presence of all the world’s best players.
– We are going to publish the world top 50 of this particular ranking, as we did last year, but it is interesting to know that this year a total of 143 players have made at least one cut in the four Majors, and therefore they are the ones who have accumulated some points (players who miss the cut do not accumulate any). The list of players who have made two cuts is reduced to 71 players, and to 34 for those who have made three of the four cuts. The exclusive club of players who have made all four cuts is 16 (Scheffler, Rory, Schauffele, English, Spaun, Rahm, Hatton, Hovland, Rai, Berger, McNealy, Rasmus Hojgaard, Fitzpatrick, Harman, Conners, and Burns).

– Let’s go with some conclusions and curiosities. Firstly, it is worth highlighting the first place of Scheffler, with two victories and four top tens in the Majors this year. Unquestionable. Last year, which was the first time we compiled this ranking, the Texan finished third, behind Schauffele and DeChambeau.
– The big ‘entry’ in the top ten is obviously Harris English, third only behind Scottie and Rory. Watch out for this late-blooming player in the Majors, who has made all four cuts and performed well in the Masters (12th) and very well in the PGA (2nd) and Open (2nd). Last year he also made all four cuts.
– LIV Golf, just like last year, only has one player in the top ten, and it’s the same one, Bryson DeChambeau, although the Californian drops from second to sixth place. Otherwise, this year it has placed six players in the top 50, compared to seven last year, very similar figures, although in 2025 the Saudi league has a much greater presence in the top 25, with five players (DeChambeau, Reed, Hatton, Rahm, and Ortiz), compared to two last year (DeChambeau and Cameron Smith). It is particularly noteworthy that Smith has not made a single cut this year in the major events. Koepka, who has missed three cuts, has also not made it into the top 50.
– The only player who repeats the same position (2024 and 2025) is Justin Rose, which is quite a coincidence. He was seventh in 2024 with 69 points and has repeated in 2025 with 67.5.
– In the span of two years, Scottie Scheffler dominates with a total of 380.16 points (133.83 in 2024 and 246.33 in 2025), very close to half of the total points that could theoretically be accumulated, which is 800, one hundred for each Major won in these two years.
– Jon Rahm has improved significantly, moving from 19.08 points in 2024 (27th place) to 40.84 points in 2025 (15th place). Two other Spaniards have accumulated world ranking points in the Majors of 2025, Sergio García (5.05 points) and David Puig (1.40), but neither of them made it into the top 50.
