The Showcase Spain: the decisive shot for your future

Spanish junior golf will have a new training and international development experience this summer thanks to The Showcase Spain, an initiative created to support young players and their families on the path to university golf in the United States. The event will be held from 28 to 30 July 2026 at the Centro Nacional de Golf in Madrid, with a format focused on learning, performance assessment and academic guidance.

The proposal was born to respond to an obvious need: many Spanish junior players have talent, but do not always have direct access to U.S. coaches nor a clear guide to the admissions processes of American universities.

Unlike other formats more narrowly focused on competition, the event will combine high performance, technical coaching and holistic development. Participants will work at training stations in small groups and with the support of advanced technology, addressing all facets of the game and competition.

The educational dimension is key, not only for the players but also for their families. The programme will include specific seminars on eligibility, academic regulations, how the university system works, communication with coaches and psychological preparation for the transition to the United States, aiming to provide practical tools to make informed decisions about each player’s sporting and academic future.

In this first edition, the event will feature three leading collegiate coaches: Giovana Maymon (University of Arizona), Armen Kirakossian (UCLA) and Matthew Thurmond (Arizona State University), who will not only observe the players’ performance but will also participate actively and provide personalised guidance and development.

The project is driven by Golf Performance, whose team includes Marta Figueras‑Dotti, current president of the LET and the first Spanish player to receive a scholarship in the United States, and Gonzalo Fernández‑Castaño, a Tour player, who, in his own words, admits that if a platform like The Showcase had existed he would, without doubt, have experienced university golf in the United States.

Technology will play a key role in performance evaluation, not only through tools such as TrackMan, video analysis and SAM PuttLab, but also through the integration of the Plataforma Showcase, developed together with Badgie, creating a digital player profile accessible to coaches and university recruiters in the United States, which extends the event’s value beyond the three days of training and competition.

The fee will be €990 for the first 25 registrants and €1,100 thereafter. Places are limited and the deadline to register will be 15 July 2026. For more information and to register you can visit the website performancegolf.golf.
