Tiger Woods was unable to play the last match of the regular season of the TGL with his Jupiter Links GC because he continues with his long recovery process. Nevertheless, he was very present on a night when the last ticket to the semi-finals was at stake. Indeed, the man from Cypress was one of the main protagonists in one of the most spectacular moments of the second season. The reaction says it all. Let’s go back a bit.
The Jupiter Links line-up was therefore formed by Max Homa, Kevin Kisner and Tom Kim. Opposite, Jupiter Bay, with Ludvig Åberg, Min Woo Lee and Wyndham Clark. Things didn’t look good for Tiger’s team as, with three holes to go, Jupiter was losing 6-3, but the team closed with a comeback of those that matter, turning it around and finishing with a win of 9-6.
The shot that changed the match came from Tom Kim, hero of the day, by sinking the second hole-in-one in the history of the competition. That shot put his team ahead (7-6) in the decisive stretch and unleashed a reaction of absolute madness in Tiger and the rest of the team. From all angles.
In the final hole, Kevin Kisner also won the hole against Ludvig Aberg and sealed the victory. With the comeback, Jupiter Links GC is into the semi-finals and already has a match-up: they will play for a spot in the final against Boston, the team of Rory McIlroy. League founders, head to head, with the final spot at stake.
