After the cut of the Open Championship, one of the most awaited moments for Ten Golf readers arrives: knowing how many and who have managed to play the weekend in the four Majors of the year.
The list, as always, is very small. It is a very exclusive club that barely moves between ten and fifteen members each year. Interestingly, in 2024 we have had the same number of golfers surpassing the four cuts as in 2023. They are a total of 12 players. Without further ado and in order of world ranking:

The player with the best world ranking among those who have made the cut in the Masters, PGA (Valhalla), US Open (Pinehurst) and Open Championship (Royal Troon) is, obviously, Scottie Scheffler, World Number One. In addition, we have on the list four top 10 world and the golfer with the lowest ranking is Ryan Fox, 64th place.
Let’s go a little further in the data. Who is the player with the most important active streak of consecutive cuts in Majors surpassed? We already said at the PGA Championship in Valhalla that Jon Rahm lost the honor that week after being left out. The baton was picked up by Hideki Matsuyama and after the Open we have to say that the Japanese maintains it. He already adds twelve consecutive Majors passing the cut. The last one where he did not achieve it was the Open Championship of 2021, since he did not play. If we look at how many consecutive cuts he has in Majors played, the figure goes to 18. In any case, we stick with the 12. The first thing to pass a cut is to play it and we must also give value to that regularity.
Behind Matsuyama appear Xander Schauffele, with eleven consecutive, and Scottie Scheffler and Patrick Cantlay with ten. From this list, perhaps the most surprising piece is Nicolai Hojgaard, a golfer who perhaps does not attract attention precisely for his consistency and, however, has made the cut in the last five Majors and if we look at those he has played, he already adds seven consecutive. Moreover, he missed the first two he played (Open 2018 and PGA 2022) and has not missed a weekend appointment in the Majors since.
