Scottie Scheffler celebra emocionado su triunfo en el green del 18 de Augusta.

Scottie Scheffler has won his second Augusta Masters, his second Major. He thus becomes the eighteenth golfer in history to win the Major of the Green Jacket at least twice. He is the first to achieve this since Bubba Watson (2012 and 2014).

– Scheffler adds this title to the one won in 2022. Only ten players in history have managed to win two Masters in a period of three years or less. The Texan joins an exclusive club where Horton Smith, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson are. High nobility in the history of golf.

– Scheffler’s victory strengthens him as the world’s Number One with 13.90 points. He has a difference from the second (Rory McIlroy) of 6.37. Only Tiger Woods has had a greater advantage over his closest pursuer throughout history.

– The difference between Scheffler and McIlroy is the largest of a first with a second in the world ranking since Tiger Woods in 2008.

– Scheffler’s sequence in his last four tournaments is: 1st, 1st, 2nd, 1st. The tournaments he has won are the Masters, THE PLAYERS and the Arnold Palmer. He came second in the Houston Open, missing a putt of just one meter to force the tiebreak.

– Scheffler has played a total of nine tournaments in 2024. He has won three, his worst position is seventeenth and he has finished eight times in the top 10.

– He has already played 35 rounds of golf since the beginning of the year and so far has not signed any above par. Impressive.

– He has played 16 Majors in his career and his balance is: two victories, six top 5 and ten top 10. He has missed two cuts (US Open 2019 and PGA Championship 2022). Apart from this, his worst result has been a 23rd (Open Championship of 2024). He has three top 3 in the last four Majors.

– Fourth youngest player to win two Masters, behind Nicklaus, Woods and Ballesteros.

– He is the player who has won his first two Masters the fastest (only five attempts) since Horton Smith in 1936. Smith won two of the first three Masters.

– Second player in history after Tiger Woods (2001) who wins THE PLAYERS and the Masters in the same year.

– Second player after Tiger Woods to win two or more Majors being Number One in the world.
