The Augusta National has unveiled the tee times and groups for the first two rounds of the Masters, the first major of the season, which kicks off this Thursday at the spectacular American course. Two days of competition in which the Spaniards José María Olazábal, Sergio García, Jon Rahm, and José Luis Ballester will aim to achieve the first goal of the week, making the cut in the best possible position on the leaderboard.
The first Spaniard to play will be the debutant Ballester, who has been placed in one of the best groups of the day. He will share the first two rounds with none other than the World Number One, Scottie Scheffler, and Justin Thomas. This confirms the rule that the US Amateur champion plays with the defending champion. On Thursday, they will start at 10:15 local time, six hours ahead in Spanish peninsular time.
Almost an hour later, it will be the turn of José María Olazábal, a two-time winner at Augusta. He will share the first two days of competition in this 2025 edition of the Masters with Thriston Lawrence and Brian Campbell. On Thursday, from 11:10 Georgia time, 17:10 in our country.
From 12:22 (18:22 in Spain), another Masters winner, Sergio García, will play, sharing rounds with Lucas Glover and Daniel Berger, already in the afternoon session. The Barrika champion’s match will be the penultimate on Thursday at the Masters.
McIlroy will play with Aberg and Bathia; Matsuyama with DeChambeau and Lowry; Scott with Schauffele and Hovland; and Spieth with Kim and Hatton, in some of the other most notable matches of the first two rounds of this first major of the season.
