The Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship’s biggest ever Championship Village has been a smash-hit with fans who have soaked up the world-class entertainment and activities on offer…

Today’s ‘Picnic Day’ saw the newly extended, sun-drenched Village packed with golf fans and families enjoying a relaxed atmosphere away from the action on the course. With a range of interactive games also available in the HSBC Interactive Village, visitors have the chance to take home top prizes for their efforts, including signed merchandise. The Speed Serve Challenge and Rugby Kicking Challenge have proven to be particularly popular and the ‘Giants of Golf’ photo experience has seen queues of people keen to take home a memento of their day out.

Abu Dhabi resident, Julie Elder, said: “We’ve brought all the children down for the day. We love the Championship Village because it’s great for the kids, who love playing on all the games on offer. The Championship is a great experience because you can get really close to the golfers, which you can’t necessarily do in Europe. We enjoyed last year, but this year it’s even better.”

Tomorrow (Saturday) will be the Championship’s first ever ‘Dress in Red’ day, where visitors wearing any item of red will receive a complimentary day pass, giving them free entry and the opportunity to see the ‘Giants of Golf’ and access to all the fun in the Championship Village.
