One of the best things about loving golf? The calendar is always jam-packed full of events to look forward to. The next big meet is always just around the corner. Though we’re not far from being halfway through 2022, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t plenty left to enjoy and mark in your calendar. Maybe you’ll even try and get some tickets?

When it comes to gambling, if you want to pick out a potential winner, there are plenty of options. The BetMGM Bet 10 Win 200 promotion is perfect for NHL and NBA, but there are many golfing promotions too. If you can pick a winner based on form then golf is a good sport to follow.

Let’s dive into some of the top events to look forward to over the rest of the year.

Golf’s Longest Day

June 7, 2022

Golf’s Longest Day has an incredible 36 holes of action, and with different qualifying events in the US and even one in Japan, these events provide about 50 high-performing contestants with the opportunity to actually qualify for the U.S. Open. There are also some qualifying events taking place separately in Europe.

There is so much action to follow, with over 800 different competitors and in different locations, which means that you may be able to get tickets. Some of the bigger events are notoriously tough to go and watch in person but the Longest Day makes it a bit more accessible.

This event is also one that has the added excitement of potential underdogs making their name in the sport.

U.S. Open

June 16 – 19, 2022

You can see the competitors who manage to qualify from Golf’s Longest Day (along with all of the usual faces) in action at the U.S Open.

This year, it will be taking place at Brookline MA for the first time in over three decades. The tournament is bound to bring a lot of excitement, with Jon Rahm due to defend his title from last year, but you may want to consider an outside bet on some of those who have had amateur success at the same course. Matt Fitzpatrick won the U.S. Amateur there almost a decade ago.

Rarely predictable, always exciting, the U.S. Open is one not to miss.

Open Championship

July 14 – 17, 2022

This year’s Open Championship will be the 150th in the history of the prestigious competition. It was first contested way back in 1860.

The tournament is being held at St. Andrews, one of the most iconic venues. Zach Johnson was victorious last time the event was played there.

The purse is over $10m and we’re all excited to see golf’s biggest names descend upon the Scottish course for a thrilling few days.

FedEx Cup Playoffs & Tour Championship

Throughout August 2022

This is the postseason section of the PGA Tour. We will first see the St. Jude Championship, while the top 125 from the tour will participate in the playoffs. Eventually, they’ll be whittled down to a final 70 contestants who will head to Wilmington Country Club.

The crop is then thinned out again, and those who finish in the first 30 positions will take part in the FedEx Cup, a big-money, prestigious tournament that sees the winner pocket a cool $18m.

The FedEx Cup enjoys widespread coverage across the globe, and though the tournament doesn’t have the history of some of those that have been going since the 1800s, it is still an essential addition to your calendar.

Presidents Cup

September 22, 2022

The Presidents Cup is great for those who are big fans of match play golf. While you wait for your Ryder Cup fix, you can watch the Presidents Cup competition as a US team takes on the rest of the world (minus Europe).

With golf growing rapidly in many different parts of the world, and Asia and Australia accounting for many of the world’s top players, the cup promises to be a fiercely-contested tournament.

Of course, there is always golf to watch and enjoy, and the PGA tour ensures that the calendar is always pretty full and exciting. If you are looking to follow the golf, you’ll be delighted by the wall-to-wall television coverage as well as the excitement of all of these golfing events.

This article merely gives an overview of the biggest events on the calendar. Many golf fans travel the globe watching tournaments, so there is every chance you have another top event in mind.
