For local Frenchman Havret it was an easy decision, “Given the very warm welcome the club and its members have shown towards me when I come and practice, I am very happy to officially represent the Golf du Médoc having already made so many friends here since we moved to Bordeaux last year. The Golf du Médoc has 2 very high standard championship courses and allows me to practice in optimum conditions only a few minutes from home.”
After turning pro as the European Amateur Champion in 1999, Grégory Havret, a 4 time French number 1 (2007, 2008, 2010 et 2011) has 3 European victories under his belt (2001 Atlanet Italian Open, the 2007 Barclays Scottish Open and the 2008 Johnnie Walker Championship). Havret also gained the World’s attention when he finished runner-up to Graeme McDowell at the 2010 US Open at Pebble Beach.
