World Number Eleven Alex Noren is targeting a second victory on British soil this season after confirming he will defend his title in the British Masters supported by Sky Sports next month.
The Swede claimed a two shot victory at The Grove in 2016 to add to the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open title he won earlier that season, and he went on to win four times in total on the 2016 Race to Dubai.
Noren has continued that form into current campaign, winning the BMW PGA Championship in May – the launch event of the European Tour’s new Rolex Series – courtesy of a stunning final round 62 at Wentworth Club.
He will be hoping for further success on British soil when he joins tournament host Lee Westwood, the former World Number One, in the field for the British Masters supported by Sky Sports, which takes place at Close House, in Northumberland, from September 28-October 1. Masters champion and World Number Five, Sergio Garcia, will also be part of the star line-up, and fans can book their tickets to watch the trio in action at Close House by clicking here with hospitality packages also available.
Noren said: “I’m really looking forward to defending my British Masters title at Close House next month. I’ve always enjoyed playing in Britain, and in front of the British fans. I won the Scottish Open as well as the British Masters last year and then won at Wentworth earlier this year, so I’ve had some success in Britain and it would be nice to play well again.
“It should be a good field again with Sergio playing and Lee hosting, so it should be a great week.”
