Adrien Saddier shot a stunning final round 63 to rise up the leaderboard and claim his maiden European Challenge Tour win at the Fred Olsen Challenge de España.
Starting the day four shots behind overnight leader Ross Kellett, the Frenchman made a fast start at Tecina Golf, making two birdies in his first three holes.
The 25 year old, who shot a remarkable ten under par 61 during round one, then made three further gains and an eagle to reach the turn in 29.
And after battling over the back nine with two more birdies and a bogey to reach 24 under par overall, the young Frenchman was delighted with his commanding three-shot victory.
“It is an awesome feeling to get my first win as a professional,” he said. “Going into today I knew I had to put in a good performance as I did not play well yesterday.
“I started my third round by three-putting whereas today I made a birdie at the first and that gave me the confidence to go on and score well for the rest of my round.
“Despite being seven under through nine I did not think about going out and trying to shoot 59 or 60 – I just wanted to go out there to win.
“I could see the scoreboard as I walked around – so I had an idea that I was leading – but I did not let that affect me and I just kept playing my game.
“Putting in on 18 knowing I had won was an amazing feeling. I have worked so hard for this with my coach, and to get my first win is really great.
“This gives me so much confidence for the rest of the season, and I really believe now that I can go on and get a spot in the top 15 on the Road to Oman at the end of the season.”
Saddier, who now sits in tenth place in the Road to Oman Rankings, will tee it up at the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge next week, where he will compete against compatriots Matthieu Pavon, Damien Perrier and Clément Sordet.
“I am very excited to compete in my home country next week,” he said. “I just hope that the home crowds are cheering for me rather than any of the other French guys!”
Finishing three shots adrift of Saddier in second place was Nicolo Ravano, who followed up his incredible 59 during round two with a third round 68 and a final round 67.
