Silvia Pereira — Sun, 09 Feb 2025 17:43:00 +0000

Iván Cantero has concluded today in Qatar a more than remarkable tour through the desert. Four weeks of competition in Dubai (finished 31st), Ras al Khaimah (5th), Bahrain (4th), and Qatar (14th) with an excellent haul as a reward. The Asturian has made all four cuts, but not only that, as in RAK and especially […]

Haotong Li: all the talent, all the grit and a bit of luck

Silvia Pereira — Sun, 09 Feb 2025 14:51:23 +0000

We can be sure: none of the 2025 Major winners will celebrate their victory on the green with the overflowing happiness and expressiveness that Haotong Li (-16) has displayed in his celebration for the triumph at the Qatar Masters, right after sinking a decisive birdie putt on the 18th at the Doha Golf Club, from […]

– Haotong Li (-13) is the leader of the Qatar Masters after the third round, having signed a card of 67 strokes, the best score of the day at the Doha Golf Club. The Chinese player, seeking his fourth victory on the DP World Tour, starts tomorrow as the main favourite for several reasons. The […]

The evolution of Robinson, the subjectivity of golf and some green shoots…

Silvia Pereira — Fri, 07 Feb 2025 14:41:28 +0000

– Brandon Robinson Thompson (-10), solo leader at the Qatar Masters after the second round, is taking advantage of two very specific circumstances at the Doha Golf Club: the first and most important, his excellent form and confidence. And the second, being on the right side of the tournament draw, those players who played on […]

Hoshino wins in Qatar and reminds us that something big is happening in Japan

Silvia Pereira — Sun, 11 Feb 2024 15:14:48 +0000

Rikuya Hoshino (-14) has won the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters after signing a final card of 68 strokes, with a stroke advantage over the French Ugo Coussaud (-13). That Hoshino has won this week is not a huge surprise, especially considering how extraordinarily well and bravely he has putted on greens as delicate as those […]

Once again, we have a mess (and quite a mess) in Qatar

Silvia Pereira — Sat, 10 Feb 2024 14:37:42 +0000

Three co-leaders have remained in the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters after the third day, waiting for the final round: the Japanese Rikuya Hoshino (-10), the French Ugo Coussaud (-10) and the Dane Rasmus Hojgaard (-10), with the latter two, Gallic and Nordic, who have rowed more and better this Saturday to reach such a privileged […]

Campillo and Larrazábal are very eager for a fuss…

Silvia Pereira — Fri, 09 Feb 2024 15:45:51 +0000

Haydn Barron (-9) is the leader of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters once the second day is over, as was almost expected after the Australian signed a 67 this morning and escaped at the top of the table. However, despite his sprint, things are still very tight on a course where you have to play […]

Haydn Barron, another one of those stories…

Silvia Pereira — Fri, 09 Feb 2024 10:49:44 +0000

Haydn Barron signed the card for the sixth round of the last Final of the European circuit school and, once he confirmed that he had secured the playing rights of the DP World Tour for the 2024 season (he did it comfortably with a ninth place in said Final), he called his girlfriend on FaceTime […]

How we love these ‘tight’ tournaments…

Silvia Pereira — Thu, 08 Feb 2024 16:05:23 +0000

The Chinese Ashun Wu (-5) and the South African Zander Lombard (-5) lead the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters after the first day. The South African’s result is a bit more noteworthy, as he achieved it in the afternoon round, where the wind’s action was felt more. Lombard continues to excel in a great start to […]

The Armada, faithful to its good habits at the start in Qatar

Silvia Pereira — Thu, 08 Feb 2024 09:49:46 +0000

The Chinese Ashun Wu (-5) is the provisional leader of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, once the morning round of the first day’s play has finished. The wind, as expected, has blown almost from the start at the Doha Golf Club and has increased as the hours have passed, so Wu’s 67 is even more […]
