A total of 18 Spanish players are taking […]

Desert Springs seeks its new Aaron Rai

Alejandro Rodríguez — Tue, 13 Oct 2026 16:44:10 +0000

Aaron Rai finished second at Desert Springs in October 2015. The Englishman did not take the trophy at the EuroPro Tour Final, but that week he secured a prize that was crucial for his career: promotion to the Challenge Tour. He hadn’t won, true, but he had achieved something even more important. It was the […]

Why is Desert Springs an ideal location for a second home?

Alejandro Rodríguez — Wed, 22 Jul 2026 16:32:45 +0000

Comfortable apartments, detached villas and a lifestyle defined by golf, tranquillity and Almería’s climate explain why more and more Spanish and international visitors are considering something more than a getaway. There are places you travel to and others that, almost without realising it, end up becoming a home. Desert Springs belongs to that second category. […]

Many come to Desert Springs for the golf, but return for everything else

Alejandro Rodríguez — Wed, 24 Jun 2026 14:32:48 +0000

The round of golf has finished. It’s nearly nine o’clock in the evening. The sun is beginning to set over the mountains of Almería and you’ve just left the 18th green. You might think that’s where the day ends at Desert Springs. In reality, however, for many, that’s when it begins. This scene is often […]

It is a place with a very distinct, well-defined personality, one of those you recognise almost instantly. Just look […]

The Armada, on the verge of a heart attack at the School: only Boneta will go out with a big cushion to the decisive round

Silvia Pereira — Sat, 02 Nov 2024 19:18:43 +0000

La second Stage of the DP World Tour School has completed the third day and, as expected, the final round at the four venues will not be for the faint-hearted. The Spanish Armada has manoeuvred some of its pieces well, but only the amateur Albert Boneta has secured a substantial cushion heading into the final […]

The Armada loses ground in the second Stage of the School

Silvia Pereira — Fri, 01 Nov 2024 19:19:24 +0000

In a challenging second day of the second Stage of the School, due to suspensions for water or thunderstorms, the Spanish Armada has found itself in a slightly more complicated scenario: if on Thursday there were eight players, out of the sixteen present, who were inside or at the very doors of the target, today […]

A more than interesting start for the Armada in the second Stage of the School

Silvia Pereira — Thu, 31 Oct 2024 17:47:42 +0000

Notable performance by Spanish golf in the first round of the second Stage of the DP World Tour Qualifying School. A total of 302 players are competing across four different venues for a spot in next week’s grand Final, although only about a third of them will succeed. Up to 16 Spaniards are seeking their […]
