Alejandro Rodríguez — Fri, 25 Sep 2026 18:27:16 +0000

Matt Fitzpatrick (-13) is the sole leader of the FedEx Open de France after shooting a splendid 64 in the second round on Friday afternoon. The Englishman leads by one over Jeff Winther (-12), two over Michael Kim (-11), the defending champion, and three over Ryan Gerard (-10) and Tom Vaillant (-10). Just behind is […]

A mini driver that’s anything but mini

Alejandro Rodríguez — Thu, 24 Sep 2026 18:36:53 +0000

– The mini driver that Ángel Hidalgo (-4) struck this Thursday at the 14th hole of the Albatros course at Le Golf National is in itself a gigantic contradiction. Because it had very little of “mini” about it. It was a full-blown mini driver. A 240-metre shot, with the ball a little higher than his […]

Nacho Elvira’s 35 rounds

Alejandro Rodríguez — Thu, 24 Sep 2026 15:04:41 +0000

– Nacho Elvira is in the best moment of his sporting career. How can something so emphatic be certified in the most scientific way possible. It is not easy. We are not referring to a one-off, to a victory, to his best result in a major or to a qualification for a tournament he had […]

French golf: the eternal search for an eternal promise

Silvia Pereira — Wed, 23 Sep 2026 19:57:22 +0000

– Tomorrow kicks off the 108th edition of the Open de France, one of the oldest in the world and one of the few tournaments that have been played every season in the history of the DP World Tour (1972-2026), with the exception of 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It has plenty […]

More wood for the tough finish at Le Golf National

Alejandro Rodríguez — Tue, 22 Sep 2026 20:41:57 +0000

Le Golf National, legendary host of a Ryder Cup and the Olympic Games, already had one of those finishing stretches that makes you tremble, especially holes 16, 17 and 18. Well, now it has upped the ante. The course Albatros, which debuts this week at the Open de Francia, after being closed for almost two […]

There must be something about Dan Bradbury when golf blesses him in this way….

Silvia Pereira — Sun, 13 Oct 2024 17:21:43 +0000

Dan Bradbury (-16) has won the Open de France after carding a 66 in the final round to edge out a large group of players (Olesen, Bairstow, Paul, and Winther, all with a total of -15), giving us an idea of the tremendous parity (and excitement) experienced at the Golf National until the very last […]

Detry resigns and Svensson insists on dreaming of the Masters

Jesper Svensson (-13) is the solo leader at the Open de France after the third round. The Swedish bomber has signed a card of 67 strokes and will start tomorrow with a one-stroke lead over his closest pursuers, Thorbjorn Olesen (-12) and Sam Bairstow (-12), who will join him in the star match on Sunday. […]

Thomas, this is as far as we go

Silvia Pereira — Fri, 11 Oct 2024 18:47:37 +0000

It is not about taking sides for or against anyone, but about assessing whether we are finally, this time, witnessing the great moment of Thomas Detry (-9), one of the three co-leaders of the Open de France after the second round, alongside Jesper Svensson (-9) and Dan Bradbury (-9). The Belgian has today signed a […]

The second wake-up call for the teenager Grinberg

Silvia Pereira — Thu, 10 Oct 2024 17:55:03 +0000

Jesper Svensson (-6), Thorbjorn Olesen (-6) and Joe Dean (-6) lead the Open de France after the first round. Once again, Dean is at the top, this English rookie on the European circuit, who has made a rather late breakthrough at the age of 30 in high-level golf, has taken a liking to the hot […]

Do you remember the Golf National at the Games? Well, forget about it…

Alejandro Rodríguez — Wed, 09 Oct 2024 19:03:40 +0000

This Thursday marks the start of the Open de France at the Le Golf National course in Paris. Two classics. The tournament and the course. Just over two months ago, the two Olympic tournaments were held at this very venue, first the men’s and then the women’s. The good results in the men’s event were […]
