What has already become a tradition in any edition of the Ryder Cup was repeated this Friday at Bethpage Black. Less than two hours before the tournament that pits United States against Europe begins, the American course opened its doors to fans, and the early risers were joined by those racing to secure a prime spot at the 1st tee.
It is the setting where fans unleash all their passion at the start of each of the four foursomes matches, scheduled for the morning session, and the four fourballs, for the afternoon session. The atmosphere promises to be intense and hostile for Luke Donald‘s team, but surely the European fans present at this Ryder will try to make themselves heard from that first shot at Bethpage Black.
