A quick look at Pinehurst

A week of great courses and different plans. There was no tournament on the LPGA Tour, so I had some time to do other things. For example, it was a great time to take a quick look at the US Open course …So that´s where we went.

On Monday and Tuesday I played at Pinehurst for the first time, and it seemed a top course. Now we know what we will find in just over a month, a complicated layout, with firm and sloping greens. I noticed how firm they are now and I can´t imagine what they will be like during the week of the tournament, especially because we play there right after the men´s US Open.

I’m hitting the ball better and in that sense I’m glad, although the results have no been what I dreamed of, but not too far off. Still, you have to be patient, and certainly little by little things start to improve. I’m suffering, but we must never lose faith or give up.

In addition, last week during the North Texas, I received a very special visit from my mother and Roger, my coach. I really wanted to see them and I needed them. Also, my mother brought me some jamon. What better way to recharge the batteries? I worked with Roger, checking some things, and I can tell you that I’m hitting better, so let´s see what happens next week in Kingsmill.

Before I arrive at the tournament, I will have time to encourage Sergio Garcia and Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano at Sawgrass. I have taken this week off to go to Florida to see the THE PLAYERS Championship. It’s a great tournament, time to enjoy a big one. Hopefully Sergio or Gonzalo will do well and come out on top …we will be supporting them.
