It was on the 14th hole. Final round of the Hero Indian Open. Eugenio López Chacarra had a two-shot lead over Joost Luiten at that moment, and the ball had ended up in such a way in the left rough of the green that even the lead was in danger.
The ball was buried in the tall grass, so it was sure to come out very loose, with the green receiving downhill. And that’s what the ball did. It shot out, on its way to crossing the green and leaving a still complicated recovery to save the bogey. It was a situation knocking on the doors of a double bogey.
However, the ball caught the line of the hole and crashed violently against the flagstick. As if that wasn’t enough, it also had the luck to fall downwards, instead of bouncing off. Chacarra and luck turned a double bogey possibility into a birdie. The moment of the tournament.
