Keegan Bradley, captain of the United States team for the Ryder Cup 2025 to be held next September at Bethpage Black, has completed the list of players he will lead in the tournament this afternoon by revealing his six personal picks, which add to the other six golfers who secured their place through the points classification.
Scottie Scheffler, World Number One, J.J. Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley, Harris English, and Bryson DeChambeau were the six players who already had their place in the team guaranteed by the results they have accumulated over the past few months. They have been joined by six more names, personally selected by the captain, who explained his decision at an event in Texas, contacting the chosen ones via video call.
The first of them was Justin Thomas, one of the classics in the Ryder Cup. The second, another prominent name in American golf, Collin Morikawa. In third place, the American captain has opted for Ben Griffin, who will make his Ryder debut. The fourth name is another ‘rookie’ in the tournament, a New Yorker who will play ‘at home’, Cameron Young. The fifth pick was Patrick Cantlay, who was involved in a controversy in the previous edition of the duel between Europe and the USA. And finally, completing the American team is a golfer in great form, Sam Burns.
With this list of American golf stars, Bradley, who will work alongside other great players as vice-captains such as Jim Furyk, Kevin Kisner, Webb Simpson, Brandt Snedeker, and Gary Woodland, will try to reclaim the Ryder Cup for the USA after the defeat a couple of years ago at the Marco Simone in Rome by 16½ to 11½ against a European team that will reveal its captain’s personal picks next week.
