Mallorca secures the HotelPlanner Tour Final until 2030 and sets its sights on new venues

La Gran Final del HotelPlanner Tour will continue to be held in Mallorca until 2030. The circuit and the Federación Balear de Golf have announced a four‑year extension of their agreement for the Road to Mallorca, which guarantees the continuity on the island of one of the decisive events for players aiming to step up to the DP World Tour.

The renewal comes with an important development: the intention is to incorporate new top‑level Mallorca courses as venues for the Final between 2027 and 2030. The agreement secures the destination, but opens a new chapter regarding the courses that will host the season finale. The statement does not yet specify which courses those will be.

The HotelPlanner Tour visited Mallorca for the first time in 2019. Since then, the island has hosted seven editions of the season finale, split between T Golf Calvia and the Club de Golf Alcanada, the venue for this year’s edition and has hosted it on five occasions.

A springboard for promotions and future winners

During this period, La Gran Final de Mallorca has established itself as a springboard for the next generation of players. Marco Penge and Kristoffer Reitan, two of its former champions, went on to make further progress with notable performances on the DP World Tour and beyond.

The importance of the tournament is not limited to the player who lifts the trophy. It is also the place where the work of an entire season is settled and promotion hopes turn into a tour card. Ángel Ayora, Martin Couvra, Casey Jarvis and Daniel Hillier are among the players who secured their playing rights on the DP World Tour at this event.

That role as a meeting point between the end of one stage and the beginning of another will continue for four more years, with the added aim of expanding the tournament’s presence to other courses on the island.

Hodges: «I am excited that La Gran Final will visit new venues»

Jamie Hodges, director of the HotelPlanner Tour, has highlighted both the continuity of the collaboration with the federation and the experience offered by the two host courses to date.

«We are delighted to extend our stay in Mallorca and look forward to continuing to work closely with the Federación Balear de Golf», he says.

«The Club de Golf Alcanada, and previously T Golf Calvia, have been exceptional venues for our season finale since 2019. Our players have enjoyed a top‑level experience both on and off the course».

Hodges also underlines the opportunity opened by this renewal: «I am excited that, over the next four years, La Gran Final will visit new venues in Mallorca as we continue to grow the tournament on the island and beyond».

Tous: «La Road to Mallorca lleva el nombre de nuestra isla por todo el mundo»

For his part, Bartolomé Tous Aguiló, president of the Federación Balear de Golf, has explained that the announcement culminates the work carried out during the season to provide stability to the project.

«We are delighted that Mallorca will host the Gran Final in 2027», he says. «We have worked throughout the season to reach a framework agreement that ensures the future of this project, and seeing those efforts bear fruit is a source of great satisfaction for the Federación Balear de Golf».

Tous acknowledges the institutional support that has made the agreement possible and highlights the international reach of the competition.

«The support of the Govern balear and the Consell de Mallorca, together with our collaboration with the HotelPlanner Tour, has been fundamental. The Road to Mallorca carries the name of our island around the world and gives us the opportunity to enjoy at home a tournament that plays a decisive role in the careers of players who aspire to step up to the DP World Tour».
