The Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by Oysho 2026 will include Paula Balanzategui, Balma Dávalos and Anna Cañadó as invited amateurs. The three Spanish players will face the professionals of the Ladies European Tour from 26 to 29 November on the Europa course at La Cala Resort, in Mijas (Málaga), where the Premio Celia Barquín, reserved for the best Spanish amateur in the competition, will also be at stake.
The Real Federación Española de Golf has confirmed the participation of Paula Balanzategui as the current Spanish Absolute Amateur champion, while Balma Dávalos and Anna Cañadó secure the other two places through the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR)
Paula Balanzategui arrives backed by her victory in the Campeonato de España Absoluto Femenino 2026, VIII Memorial Emma Villacieros, held at Pula Golf. The San Sebastián native staged a comeback in the final round, starting three shots off the lead and carding a 70 to win with a total of 287 and a three-shot margin over her pursuers. Her season also includes the gold with Spain at the European Ladies’ Team Championship, a success that strengthens the credentials with which she will approach her participation at La Cala Resort
The Basque player also developed her collegiate career at Michigan State, where she finished the 2025-2026 season with four top-ten finishes. These include runner-up places at the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational and the Carolina Challenge Cup, which round off a year of strong results both in the United States and with the Spanish national team
Balma Dávalos will bring an international record highlighted by the 2025 European individual runner-up finish, when she was part of the historic all-Spanish podium alongside Paula Martín and Andrea Revuelta. The player from Castellón maintained her prominence this summer: she shared with Balanzategui in Spain’s victory at the European Ladies’ Team Championship and finished tenth in the 2026 European Women’s Individual Championship, held in Sweden
Member of the team at Auburn University, Dávalos has also stood out on the US collegiate circuit. During the 2025-2026 season she was runner-up at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational and the Illini Women’s Invitational at Medinah, and received All-American honourable mentions from both the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) and Golfweek. Her presence adds to the tournament a player experienced in competing for national and international titles
Anna Cañadó, meanwhile, combines her sporting career with her studies at Duke University, where she won her first collegiate title at the 2025 Chattanooga Classic. In the 2025-2026 season she added a fourth place at the Windy City Collegiate Classic and a fifth at the Sea Best Intercollegiate. Her record also includes the 2022 Spanish under-16 and under-18 championships, as well as her participation in the European team that won the 2023 PING Junior Solheim Cup
The Catalan will arrive in Mijas with recent Ladies European Tour experience: last July she played the Hulencourt Women’s Open in Belgium, her first appearance on the tour. There she made the cut and finished tied for 59th, being one of only two amateurs to complete all four rounds. That precedent will allow her to face the demands of a professional competition with greater knowledge
The three will vie for the Premio Celia Barquín, created in 2022 to honour the best amateur of the tournament and to pay tribute to the Cantabrian golfer, the 2018 European individual champion. Last year, Andrea Revuelta won the award after finishing in fifteenth place and, moreover, as the highest-placed Spanish player
The Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by Oysho 2026 will close the Ladies European Tour calendar from 26 to 29 November at La Cala Resort, where national amateur talent will once again share the spotlight with the tour professionals. Four days of competition that will once again place Andalucía and the Costa del Sol at the centre of international women’s golf
