Short, Shorter and the Shortest

Compartir

Recently I have been hearing a number of students have problems with the rules for the comparative in English.

For example, ¨your ball is more close than mine¨

For the majority of adjectives, the general rule is to add ER so that short becomes shorter.

Sometimes in English we use the construction MORE plus adjective – typically for adjectives with many syllables = more difficult.

To help you to understand this tricky subject I have prepared this class

Golf is a great activity for learning comparative adjectives and also the superlative. During a round of golf we are constantly using common adjectives such as close, near, far, long, challenging, difficult, fast, slow  …to describe how we are playing.
